This course will be on Thursdy 3rd October 2019 from 17:45 until 21:15 then again on Thursday 10th October 2019 from 17:45 until 21:15. Both days will be held at Newbattle Community Campus, Newbattle Way, Dalkeith, EH22 4SX.
The course comprise's of a minimum of 6 hours of practical and theoretical training covering responsibilities; assessment of the situation; first aid hygiene; resuscitation; anatomy; choking; bleeding; shock; epilepsy; minor injuries and dealing with an unresponsive casualty. Compliant with Health & Safety Executive code of Practice.
A maximum of 12 students are allowed and must be a minimum of 14 years of age and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment.
The cost of the course is £60 per delegate.
If your sports club is a member of the Newbattle Community Sports Hub £30 of the course will be refunded to you within 14 days upon succesfully completion of the course.
The Mini Medics course is a very basic introduction to First Aid and Defibrillation aimed at children between the ages of 8 and 11, but it can suit children of any age. The course is kept at a basic level with no use of confusing terminologies.
THE COURSE WILL SHOW COMPLETE RESPECT FOR THE CHILD’S ABILITY, MAKE IT EDUCATIONAL AND PRACTICAL, AND INSTIL THE IMPORTANCE OF HELPING SOMEONE WHO IS POORLY OR INJURED.
